Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Risk & Control Governance Lead and oversee the operational risk and control governance framework across Group Wholesale Loan Operations. Establish and maintain robust risk identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting processes to ensure effective management of operational risks. Ensure adherence to Group policies, regulatory requirements, operational standards and internal control frameworks. Review and challenge control effectiveness, identify control gaps and drive timely remediation actions. Oversee risk events, incidents, near misses and control failures, ensuring proper root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Develop and monitor Key Operational Risk Indicators (KORIs), perform Key Risk & Control Self-Assessment (KRCSA) and control health metrics for effective management reporting. Drive risk and control awareness across the department and promote a strong risk culture. Audit, Compliance and Regulatory Management Act as the primary coordination point for Internal Audit, External Audit, Compliance Reviews and Regulatory Examinations relating to Wholesale Loan Operations. Ensure audit findings, regulatory observations and self-identified issues are effectively managed through timely remediation and sustainable corrective actions. Provide oversight on management responses, action plans and issue closure validation. Monitor emerging regulatory developments and assess operational impact on Wholesale Loan Operations. Change Management and Transformation Lead the department's change management and continuous improvement agenda. Drive Quality, Efficiency and Productivity (QEP) programmes across all operational processes. Apply ESA (Elimination, Simplification and Automation) methodology to identify opportunities for process optimisation and cost efficiency. Partner with Technology, Digital Transformation and Operations teams to prioritize and implement automation initiatives. Build and maintain a transformation pipeline with measurable productivity, quality and risk reduction benefits. Identify and champion opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, RPA, workflow automation and data analytics solutions across loan operations. Drive adoption of AI-powered quality assurance, exception management, document processing and operational analytics capabilities. Ensure appropriate governance, controls and risk management are embedded within automation and AI solutions. KEY REQUIREMENTS Degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Accounting, Risk Management, Information Technology or related discipline. Minimum 15 years of banking operations experience with at least 8 years in Wholesale Banking / Loan Operations, Operational Risk, Control Governance, Audit or Transformation functions. Strong understanding of wholesale loan products, loan lifecycle processes, credit administration, documentation controls, limits monitoring and lending operations. Proven experience in operational risk management, control frameworks, governance and regulatory compliance. Practical experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, ESA methodologies or continuous improvement frameworks. Strong understanding of AI, RPA, workflow automation and emerging digital technologies applicable to banking operations. Experience managing audit engagements and regulatory examinations. Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills. Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication capabilities. Ability to operate effectively across multiple functions, countries and senior management levels. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to drive change and build high-performing teams.
